Medusa Beats celebrate the spirit of pulse and whirlpools created by playing sounds and lines that are interlocked seemingly by surprise. This new international group features three activists and forerunning musicians who are as often leaders as they are sidemen. They are three multi-awarded composers and players of renown, imagining a music of today and tomorrow, three virtuosos on their instruments which they play and approach like inventing them again, as well as three leaders of acclaimed bands that tour the international jazz and new music festivals worldwide. They count an impressive number of collaborations with musicians of the highest calibre such as Lee Konitz, Django Bates, Evan Parker, Chris Potter, John Scofield, Marc Ducret, Jim Black, Mark Turner, Steve Lacy, Taylor Ho Bynum, JeanJacques Avenel, John Taylor, Joachim Kühn, Fred Hersch, Mark Helias, François Houle, Gerry Hemingway, Uri Caine among many others.
