Nun, entgegen der landläufigen Meinung kann der Blitz durchaus zweimal einschlagen, wie Houston Persons neueste Veröffentlichung beweist. Kurz nach dem großen Erfolg seines Albums „MY ROMANCE“ versammelt Houston ein erstklassiges Musikerteam im berühmten Rudy Van Gelder Studio. Richard Wyands ist am Klavier dabei, und der Gitarrist Russell Malone ergänzt die hochkarätige Rhythmusgruppe um Ray Drummond und Grady Tate. Großartige Stücke („The Night We Called It a Day“, „At Last“, „It Shouldn't Happen to a Dream“ und andere) und Houstons voller, warmer Tenorsaxophonklang garantieren beste Chancen auf häufige Radioeinsätze zu allen wichtigen Sendezeiten. Ein Radiomoderator sagte über „My Romance“: „Das ist kein ‚Smooth Jazz‘, das ist echter Jazz; es ist wirklich geschmeidiger Jazz.“
