Im Jahr 2017 veröffentlichte Manifesto Records eine 12-CD-Box des legendären Gitarrenvirtuosen Allan Holdsworth. Der Mann, der die Gitarre für immer veränderte! Dies stellte sich als Allans letztes Projekt heraus, da er kurz nach der Veröffentlichung auf tragische Weise starb.

Manifesto hat sich mit dem Holdsworth Family Estate zusammengetan, um eine Reihe von Archiv-Live-Aufnahmen aus den verschiedenen Epochen von Allans langer und geschätzter Karriere herauszubringen. ALLAN HOLDSWORT, I. O.U. - LIVE IN JAPAN 1984 wird die erste Aufnahme dieser Serie sein. LIVE IN JAPAN 1984 ist das letzte Live-Set von Allan Holdsworths I. Zusammen mit Holdsworth, der an der Spitze seines Karriere war, spielt I. O.U. Schlagzeuger Chad Wackerman, Bassist Jimmy Johnson und Sänger Paul Williams, Holdsworths alter Bandkollege aus seiner Zeit in der britischen Prog-Rock Band Tempest. LIVE IN JAPAN 1984 ist eine historische Aufnahme, nicht nur, weil es das letzte Live-Set der I. O.U. Band ist, sondern auch weil es im japanischen Fernsehen gezeigt wurde.
