Sie starteten als The Harmony Four im Jahr 1930. The Charioteers sind eine fantastische Vokal-Gruppe der nicht nur die Mills Brothers dankbar sein sollten. Sie ebneten den Weg für zahlreiche weitere Vokal-Bands. In Amerika äußerst erfolgreich, waren sie in Europa fast unbekannt und nur Billy Willimas als Solo-Artist schaffte hier den Durchbruch.
