Musik für Horn & Klavier "The Horn in Romanticism" (Blu-ray Audio & SACD)
The Blu-ray Audio Disc (also Pure Audio Blu-ray) is technically a normal Blu-ray Disc and can be played on any Blu-ray player. However, it does not contain any video content. The high storage capacity is used for high-resolution audio data (stereo and surround, up to 24 bit/192 kHz). It is operated either without a screen like a conventional CD or via the onscreen menu like a normal Blu-ray disc.
SACD (Super Audio CD)The SACD uses a higher digital resolution than the audio CD and also offers the possibility to store multi-channel sound (surround sound). To enjoy the music in high-end quality, a special SACD player is required. Thanks to the hybrid function, most of the products marked "SACD" in our store can also be played on conventional CD players. In this case, however, the sound does not differ from that of a normal CD. In case of deviations, we point this out separately (non-hybrid).

Für die Komponisten der romantischen Musik war der Klang des Horns der Inbegriff stürmischer Gefühle. Robert Schumann soll vom Horn als der Seele des Orchesters gesprochen haben. Für die Dichter war der Klang des Horns ein Symbol für die Sehnsucht der Seele. Für die Hornisten jedoch ging es in der Romantik vor allem um die Seele des Horns selbst, denn es war ein Instrument, das durch neue Technologien, insbesondere durch die Erfindung des Ventils, Experimenten und Veränderungen ausgesetzt war. Die vorliegende Aufnahme erforscht und illustriert diese wichtige Epoche in der Entwicklung des Horns.
