Yermal is in between Uchila and Padubidri on National Highway 17.There are two parts in Yermal one Tenka (meaning south in Tulu) and Bada or Badagu (meaning north in Tulu). There is a Janardhana temple in this village. It has two Mosques and several other small temples also, historical jaina basadhi is located in the heart of the village. The yermal janardhan car festival and the butharadhana, nemosthavas are famous festivals. The history of Yermal Village is very unique. It has been told that Yermal was covered by Sea and Rivers from 3 sides. Almost 75% of the present geographical area was under water before 400 years. This area was ruled by Jain Family and the four fathers of Shri Nabiraja Arasu (Grand Father of Present Ashoka Raja Arasu) appointed a village accountant Shri Shaikh Yusuf Khan who was the architect of this modern Yermal.
