Klappentext
Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Xenographic (pronounced "zen-o-graphic") means across-species. It is often used in reference to transplants (such as the historic xenographic heart transplants that were attempted unsuccessfully), or the more successful cartilage matrix transplants that are studied today. "Xenographic barrier" is mentioned with reference to viruses, such as SARS or HIV which evolve to attack hosts of other species, thus crossing such an evolutionary barrier. Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS; pronounced /srz/ sarz) is a respiratory disease in humans which is caused by the SARS coronavirus (SARS-CoV). There has been one near pandemic to date, between the months of November 2002 and July 2003, with 8, 096 known infected cases and 774 deaths (a case-fatality rate of 9.6%) worldwide being listed in the World Health Organization's (WHO) 21 April 2004 concluding report.
