Pullman Car Hiawatha is a comedy set aboard a train car traveling from New York to Chicago in December 1930. Wilder suspends conventional time as he takes us on a metaphorical journey through the American landscape alongside a diverse band of travelers hurtling through time, space, and a range of emotions.

Like Our Town , these emotionally powerful short works are stripped down to their essence---using spare stagecraft and simple characterizations---to illuminate timeless truths about life and humanity.
