Valerie Thomas, geb. in Melbourne, Australien, wo sie auch die meiste Zeit ihres Lebens verbrachte. 6 Jahre aber hielt sie sich in Europa auf und arbeitet in England, Frankreich und Norwegen. Sie ist von Haus aus Lehrerin und Spezialistin für englische Rechtschreibung. Zilly, die Zauberin war ihre erste Bilderbuchheldin, die Bücher der Reihe wurden inzwischen in 14 Sprachen übersetzt. Die Lieblingsbeschäftigung der Autorin ist Reisen -und es gibt kaum einen abgelegenen Ort auf der Welt, wo sie noch nicht war bzw. demnächst hin möchte.Biografie (Korky Paul)
Korky Paul, geb. 1951 in Zimbabwe, arbeitete nach einem Grafikstudium für Werbeagenturen in Kapstadt und London und für einen Schulbuchverlag in Griechenland und studierte Zeichentrick-Animation in Los Angeles. 1980 erschien sein erstes Bilderbuch in den USA. Doch erst die Zilly-Bände wurde ein durchschlagender Erfolg und machten ihn international bekannt. Inzwischen hat er viele Bilderbücher mit internationalen Erfolg veröffentlicht.
