Biography (Stephen W. Porges)
Stephen W. Porges, Ph.D., Professor für Psychiatrie und Biomedizintechnik, ist Direktor des Brain-Body Center an der University of Illinois in Chicago. 1994 entwickelte er die Polyvagal-Theorie, nach der sich das soziale Verhalten parallel zum autonomen Nervensystem entwickelt hat. Die Theorie ermöglicht Einblicke in die Entstehung sozialer Bindungen, von Intimität sowie der Symptome zahlreicher körperlicher und psychischer Störungen und von Verhaltensproblemen.
