"En Una familia más, la poeta y artista multidisciplinaria Pilar Rodríguez Aranda hace un desgarrador recuento de la amnesia de una familia que, aunque particular, podría ser una familia más, donde dolor que yace enterrado sale por fin a la superficie. "Me seco con la memoria / Tibia, sucia y afelpada". Tantos años de micro y macro violencias al interior de la familia han dejado su huella, imposible de borrar pero fácil de ignorar (Nadie entre nosotros recibe al otro / con los brazos abiertos).

"La lectura bilingüe de esta purga del árbol genealógico, dividida en cuatro secciones con alusión a este (Raíces ocultas / Tronco trunco / Ramas caídas / Simiente al vuelo), es de helar los huesos (Eso no sucedió...Si sucedió hay que guardarlo bajo candado / para que no te acuerdes). Más no si antes resurgir del inframundo de la mano de la poeta hacia una especie de "limpia", donde el karma se reestablece y ella y los descendientes tienen la opción a la felicidad.

"Temas como el incesto, la violencia patriarcal y las traiciones unos de otros, la enfermedad mental como último escape y la vergüenza engendrada en el silencio salen a tomar aire y, cargadas de oxígeno, ofrecen la posibilidad de transformación. "La familia es todo el mito" y con este poemario, la poeta destruye esa mitología que no sirve, que ha causado tanto daño y ofrece una salida con los tres poemas finales en lo que, finalmente, puede reescribir su historia y la de sus ancestros. "El mío es nomás un vago recuento / La historia de una familia más / tan tuya aunque no sea la propia./He retirado los espejos y ahora me miro / Dulcemente hablo conmigo / Trazo mi corazón sobre la piel / sin muda alguna", dice en el poema "Para no olvidar". In this powerful poetry collection, she purges the family tree (the book is divided in four sections: Hidden Roots / Truncated Trunk / Fallen Branches / Seeds Take Flight) with an unflinching look and comes out on the other end, with the reader following along on this harrowing journey.

"This family, while unique, is also everyone's family as the title implies (Mine is just a vague retelling / One more family's story / yours even if not one's one / I have removed the mirrors and now I see myself / I talk to myself, sweetly / I trace my heart on my own skin / without a mute doubt.) Redemption is possible as is the chance of happiness for herself and those who follow. Otherwise, history repeats itself, in a veil of amnesia. But the poet purges the pain and refuses to be silent".
