Der englische Kinder- und Jugendbuchautor Philip Ardagh hat unter verschiedenen Namen über vierzig Bücher für Kinder veröffentlicht, darunter einige zum Thema Ägypten. Die Bandbreite seines schriftstellerischen Schaffens ist immens und reicht von historischen Jugendromanen bis zu Gruselgeschichten. Seine Bücher wurden bislang in neun Sprachen übersetzt. David Melling has been shortlisted for the Kate Greenaway Medal and the Smarties Book Award. Before becoming an internationally-acclaimed and best-selling author / illustrator, David worked as a photographer and as an animation artist for films including the much-loved Father Christmas by Raymond Briggs. He was born in Oxford and still lives near the city with his wife and two children. One of his most popular picture books 'The Tale of Jack Frost' was animated and shown on BBC1 on Christmas Day.
