Patrick Rothfuss, geboren 1973 in Wisconsin, unterrichtet als Universitätsdozent und lebt in Wisconsin. In seiner Freizeit schreibt er satirische Kolumnen. 2007 wurde Patrick Rothfuss mit dem Pulishers Weekly Award für das beste Fantasy-Buch des Jahres ausgezeichnet.
