Biografie (Jörg Dürrschmidt)
Jörg Dürrschmidt (1964) studierte Philosophie in Jena und Soziologie in Bielefeld und London. Nach der Promotion 1996 (die Arbeit erschien 2000 als 'Everyday Lives in the Global City' bei Routledge) unterrichtete er Soziologie an der University of the West of England, Bristol. Seit Oktober 2000 arbeitet er am Institut für Regionalentwicklung und Strukturplanung (IRS) in Erkner bei Berlin an einem DFG-Projekt, das sich mit den alltagskulturellen Dynamiken im deutsch-polnischen Grenzgebiet beschäftigt. Sein Forschungsinteresse gilt der Phänomenologie von Globalisierung und Transformation.
