Eight years ago, fashion student Maxine Britt was looking for gender neutral clothing brands to work for after graduating, but all they saw were beige tracksuits, graphic tees with a gay phrase of the week, and $400 denim onesies that stopped as a size large. Frustration with the industry led them to publish multiple IRB-certified research projects on trans and nonbinary people's needs from fashion, but they didn't stop there. Mx Apparel Design became their fulltime job, a brand centered around size-inclusivity, creative fit solutions, and self-expression. The brand grew to reach millions online and sell internationally thanks to educational content deconstructing gender and fashion.
