Mathew Witte: The Execution Paradox, Gebunden

Klappentext

You have the strategy. You have the people. You have the resources. So why isn't it working?

This is the question that haunts every capable organization. Not the ones in crisis, though this book is for them too. The ones hitting their numbers, running strong teams, investing in the right technology, and still sensing that the ceiling is lower than it should be. That the gains are harder to sustain. That something in the translation from boardroom to floor is breaking down, and nobody can quite name what it is.

That condition has a name. It is the Execution Paradox(TM).

McKinsey's own research shows that seventy percent of organizational transformations fail to meet their objectives. Technology implementations fail at similar rates. Rooms full of the smartest people in the industry, with every advantage, still produce failures that cost fortunes and in some cases cannot be undone. Not because the strategy was wrong. Not because the people were incapable. Because the system managing the three goals every organization pursues simultaneously, profitability, service quality, and risk reduction, was never designed to hold all three at once. Each goal has an owner. The intersection has none.

This book is about what lives in that intersection.

Mathew Witte has seen it from every seat at the table. As a senior operator and turnaround specialist running large-scale national fleet and distribution operations. As a Fortune 500 executive responsible for transforming cost centers into profit centers. As the CEO of a SaaS company selling into the operations and supply chain market. As an executive advisor and consultant working alongside leadership teams across distribution, manufacturing, technology, and private equity. Each seat taught him something the others could not. The gap between strategy and execution looks different depending on where you sit. What he discovered is that the gap itself is always the same.

That perspective, built from three decades across every side of the organizational table, is what produced the Execution Paradox Framework. Three pillars: Alignment, Velocity, and Discipline. One outcome: organizations that stop choosing between profitability, service, and risk and start making decisions that hold all three simultaneously.

This book is not for one kind of leader. It is for all of them.

For the senior executive who built the strategy and cannot understand why the floor is doing something entirely different. For the middle manager who can see exactly where the gap is and has no language to name it or tools to close it. For the young leader who just discovered that everything they were taught describes the organization as it is supposed to work, and nothing prepared them for the organization as it actually works.

This is not a book about strategy. That conversation is well underway.

This is not a book about leadership. There are excellent books about leadership.

This is a book about the operating layer beneath both. The sixty seconds when the decision has to be made and there is no committee, no framework document, and no approved protocol that covers exactly this situation. The gap between what an organization intends and what it actually delivers. The space where most organizational value is either created or destroyed, one decision at a time, by people who were never given a framework for holding all three dimensions simultaneously.

That space has been the most consistently unaddressed layer in thirty years of operations management.

Until now.
