Von Juni bis Dezember 2027 gastiert die Ausstellung 'Feminist Activist Queer Art aus New York' im Neuen Museum Nürnberg. Lutz Hieber und Gisela Theising blicken aus kunstsoziologischer Perspektive auf das Themenfeld aktivistischer feministischer und queerer Kunst, die auch in Europa zunehmend gesellschaftliche Relevant gewinnt. Dabei fokussieren sie besonders auf die Kollektive 'Guerilla Girls' und 'Women's Action Coalition' sowie den queeren Aktivismus der Gruppen 'fierce pussy' und 'DAM!' und zeigen, wie die Impulse aus New York in Europa rezipiert werden. Im Zentrum stehen dabei auch das individuelle Wirken der in den Kollektiven arbeitenden Künstlerinnen sowie das Zusammenspiel von Queer Abstraction und Post-Punk-Feminismus.

From June to December 2027, the exhibition 'Feminist Activist Queer Art from New York' will be on view at the Neues Museum in Nuremberg. Lutz Hieber and Gisela Theising examine the field of activist feminist and queer art, which is also gaining increasing social relevance in Europe, from a sociological perspective. They focus on the collectives 'Guerilla Girls' and 'Women's Action Coalition', as well as the queer activism of the groups 'fierce pussy' and 'DAM!' and demonstrate how these movements from New York are being received in Europe. Another highlight is the individual work of the artists involved in these collectives, as well as the interplay between Queer Abstraction and Post-Punk Feminism.
