Biography (John Muir)
John Muir (1838 - 1914), war ein schottisch-USamerikanischer Universalgelehrter. Er betätigte sich als Naturwissenschaftler, Entdecker, Schrift steller, Erfinder, Ingenieur und Geologe. Im Laufe seines Lebens entwickelte er sich vom Natur forscher mehr und mehr zum Natur schützer und nahm dabei viele der Ideen der heutigen Öko- und Tierrechtsbewegung vorweg. Er war er klärter Gegner der Domestizierung domestizierte Tiere hielt er für seelenlos und nur halb lebendig.Notes:
