Iggy Pop, geboren 1947 in Michigan, ist ein US-amerikanischer Sänger, Gitarrist, Komponist, Schlagzeuger und Schauspieler. Der als "Godfather of Punk" bezeichnete Musiker wird als Wegbereiter des Punkrock und verwandter Stile angesehen. Auch aufgrund seiner dynamischen bis exzessiven Bühnenpräsenz erlangte er den Ruf eines exaltierten Künstlers. Im März 2010 wurde Iggy Pop in Anerkennung seines Schaffens in die Rock and Roll Hall of Fame aufgenommen.
