Biografie
Hilaire Belloc (1870 - 1953), englischer Schriftsteller und Politiker. Er schrieb Romane, weltanschauliche Essays, Lyrik und Reiseberichte. Im Gedächtnis geblieben sind jedoch vor allem seine Kinderbücher, die durch ihre witzig-ironische Darstellungsweise und ihren satirischen Charakter heute wie zur Zeit ihres Erscheinens begeisterte Leser finden.
