A fresh perspective on the vibrant legacy of a street photography pioneer - featuring never-before-published images from the archive
Fred Herzog's color-drenched Kodachrome photographs are among the most striking documents of urban street photography in the 20th century. Fred Herzog. A Color Legacy is a beautifully produced photobook showcasing previously unseen images from the photographer's archive - a must-have for lovers of color photography, urban history, and visual poetry.
Herzog's gaze upon the street was unique: poetic, observant, never intrusive. His images bathe everyday scenes in rich red and orange tones, revealing the beauty of the seemingly ordinary. Whether in Vancouver, Mexico, or Curaçao, he always had his Leica at hand to capture the moment.
This volume adds powerful new chapters to Fred Herzog's photographic legacy. In a time when black and white photography dominated, Herzog boldly chose color - and in doing so, made photographic history.
