Klappentext

Exercise During and After Pregnancy covers the current state of knowledge starting with a brief historical perspective as well as current guidelines from around the world for prenatal exercise. Chapters examine information regarding the influence of pregnancy on the maternal physiological systems, especially those pertinent to exercise. Following this overview, information delves into the influence of exercise on these systems throughout gestation and explain the influence of exercising throughout pregnancy and the influence on feto-placental physiology.

This ground-breaking work serves as a technical textbook for educating exercise professionals on supporting women with physical activity during pregnancy, while also educating students on the physiological changes occurring in a woman's body during pregnancy, using everyday health-specific language to ensure a wide range of individuals can learn how to best support women during the maternal, fetal, and neonatal periods.

Exercise During and After Pregnancy is written for anyone who is or works with pregnant women to become more knowledgeable about the influence of prenatal exercise on maternal, feto-placental, and child health, including exercise professionals, clinicians, or those interested in helping pregnant women as well as students and researchers of kinesiology, physiology and physical activity.
