Biography (Elfriede Jelinek)
Elfriede Jelinek, geboren 1946 in Mürzzuschlag/Steiermark, wuchs in Wien auf; mit vier Jahren Ballett- und Französischunterricht, in der Folgezeit umfassende musikalische Ausbildung; 1960 Klavier- und Kompositions-Studium am Wiener Konservatorium; 1964 Studium der Theaterwissenschaft und Kunstgeschichte an der Universität Wien; 1967 Abbruch des Studiums, beginnt zu schreiben; Lyrik und Prosatexte erscheinen in Anthologien und Literaturzeitschriften. Elfriede Jelinek erhielt zahlreiche Literaturpreise, darunter den Georg-Büchner-Preis (1998). 2004 wurde ihr der Literatur-Nobelpreis verliehen.Biography (Gitta Honegger)
Gitta Honegger, in Wien geboren, Studium der Theaterwissenschaft ebendort, lebt seit mehr als zwanzig Jahren als Dramaturgin, Regisseurin und Theaterwissenschaftlerin in den USA. Lehrtätigkeit an verschiedenen amerikanischen Universitäten. Seit 2001 hat sie eine Professur für Theater und Literatur an der Arizona State University inne. Sie übersetzte Stücke und Prosa von Thomas Bernhard ins Amerikanische und gilt als Bernhard-Expertin.§
