Dale J. Albrecht: AI and the Digital Enterprise, Kartoniert / Broschiert

Blurb

This book presents a comprehensive yet accessible framework for understanding how business systems generate value within organizations and how leaders can effectively navigate the transition to AI-enabled enterprises. Central to the book is the Business Systems Roadmap (BSR), a five-tier model that illustrates organizational progression from basic administrative systems (Tier 1) to advanced cognitive-autonomous systems (Tier 5).

Drawing on insights from capability maturity models (CMMs), the book bridges established concepts of organizational maturity with the evolving role of digital business systems. It examines how systems contribute value through recordkeeping, workflow automation, decision support, predictive analytics, and autonomous functionality.

Covering all major business functions, including human resources, finance, marketing, supply chain, and operations, the book demonstrates how systems at each tier align with and support strategic business objectives. Each chapter is designed for practical application in the workplace, while the book as a whole serves as a valuable resource in academic settings.

Ultimately, this work serves as both a practical guide for business leaders and an academic text for undergraduate and graduate programs. It supports professionals and organizations in aligning system investments with strategic goals and digital transformation initiatives. By emphasizing application and decision-making over purely technical detail, the book offers a distinctive and impactful contribution to the field.
