Biography
Alphonse Daudet, geb. 1841 in Nimes als Sohn einer verarmten Fabrikantenfamilie. 1857 zieht er nach Paris, wo seine literarische Karriere beginnt und er Zugang zu Pariser Salons erhält. Später wird er Privatsekretär des Herzogs von Momy, der ihm mehrere Reisen nach Südfrankreich, nach Algerien und 1863/64 nach Korsika ermöglichte. Daudet starb 1897 in Paris.Notes:
