During the Israeli invasion of Ramallah in March 2002, Amiry's feisty ninety-two-year-old mother-in-law came to live with them, and Amiry's diary of this time is at the heart of this wonderful book about the absurdity (and agony) of life in the Occupied Territories.
Biografie
Suad Amiry lebt in Ramallah/Palästina und studierte Architektur an der amerikanischen Universität von Beirut, in Michigan/USA und in Edinburgh. Sie ist Direktorin des von ihr gegründeten Riwaq Zentrums für palästinensische Architektur und lehrt an der Universität von Birzeit. Von 1991 bis 1993 war sie Mitglied einer Friedensdelegation von Palästinensern in Washington. Derzeit engagiert sie sich in einer bedeutenden Friedensinitiative von palästinensischen und israelischen Frauen.
