Snooker world rankings 2005 / 2006: The professional world rankings for the top 64 snooker players in the 2005 / 2006 season are listed below. The snooker world rankings are the official system of ranking professional snooker players to determine automatic qualification and seeding for tournaments. They are maintained by the sport's governing body, the WPBSA. As of 17 July 2010, the number one-ranked player is John Higgins, although on May 2 2010 the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association suspended him from tournament play, pending an investigation into match fixing allegations made by the News of the World tabloid newspaper.
