John Ajvide Lindqvist, geboren 1968, ist aufgewachsen in Blackeberg, einem Vorort von Stockholm. Nach einer Karriere als TV-Standup-Comedian hat er mit dem Schreiben von Thrillern mit Horrorelementen begonnen. John Ajvide Lindqvist gilt in Schweden als eines der größten Talente der Literaturszene. 2008 wurde er mit dem Selma Lagerlöf-Literaturpreis ausgezeichnet.
