Biography
Hayao Miyazaki wurde 1941 in Tokyo geboren und zählt zu den größten Regisseuren, Animatoren und Manga-Schriftstellern. Nach seinem Abschluss als Diplomwirtschaftswissenschaftler an der Gakushuin-Universität, begann er 1963 als Animator für Toei Doga (Toei Animation Studio) zu arbeiten. Auf diesem Gebiet wirkte er bei der Produktion zahlreicher Meisterstücke des japanischen Zeichentricks mit. 1968 begann er, als Chefzeichner für die Serie "Taiyo no Oji Horus no Daiboken" ("The Little Norse Prince Valiant") zu arbeiten. Seine unglaubliche Fähigkeit zu zeichnen und der unerschöpfliche Ideenreichtum, den er für die Filme parat hatte, zog von Anfang an große Aufmerksamkeit auf sich und seit dieser Serie gilt er als herausragendes Talent. 1971 wechselte er zu A Pro und zwei Jahre später zu Nippon Animation. 1978 führte er erstmals bei einer TV-Serie Regie. Bei dieser Serie handelte es sich um "Mirai Shonen Conan" ("Future Boy Conan"). Bereits 1979 verließ er Nippon Animation wieder, da er die Gelegenheit bekam, bei Tokyo Movie Shinsha seinen ersten Film "Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro" umzusetzen. 1983 begann er die Manga-Serie "Nausicaä vom Tal der Winde", die von da an bis 1994 regelmäßig in dem Anime-Magazin "Animage" erschien.
