The Mission: Neverland (Deluxe Edition) auf 2 CDs

The Mission wurde von Wayne Hussey und Craig Adams gegründet, ehemals Mitglieder der, die sie nach einem Streit mit Sänger Andrew Eldritch verlassen hatten. Zunächst tourten sie unter The Sisterhood. Dieser Name wurde jedoch von Eldritch beansprucht, worauf hin sich die Band The Mission nannte und es mit dem Debutalbum ’God’s Own Medicine’ und seinen Nachfolgealben schnell schaffte, an den Erfolg der Sisters of Mercy anzuknüpfen. Demon / Edsel wird nun erstmalig zwei Alben aus Mitte der 1990er Jahre als Remaster mit Bonustracks veröffentlichen. Für das nun als Doppel-CD kommende ’Neverland’ konnte man ganze sagenhafte 13 Bonustracks aus den Archiven holen. Darunter John Lennon’s ’Instant Karma’ und der frühe Status Quo-Klassiker ’Pictures Of Matchstick Men’. Das ursprüngliche Album enthält natürlich die Hits ’Raising Cain’, ’Swoon’, ’Lose Myself In You’. Das runderneuerte Booklet kommt mit Lyrics sowie brandneuen Linernotes von Tim Jones (Record Collector)

Formed in 1986 by Wayne Hussey and Craig Adams when they left the Sisters Of Mercy, The Mission enjoyed a succession of hit albums and singles through the second half of the 80s and the first half of the 90s.

“Neverland”, released in February 1995, was the band’s sixth album, and featured the hits “Raising Cain”, “Swoon”and “Lose Myself In You”.

The bonus disc features the non-album singles sides and mixes, along with two interesting cover versions only issued in Germany: John Lennon’s “Instant Karma” and Status Quo’s “Pictures Of Matchstick Men”. All these are gathered together on one CD for the first time.

The CD booklet now contains all the lyrics, as well as brand new annotation by Tim Jones of Record Collector.
