Die Pioniere der Countryfizierung melden sich zurück!Als The Twang 1998 ihre erste E. P. mit countryfizierten Popsongs veröffentlichten, ahnte niemand, dass dies der Anfang einer neuen Welle sein sollte. Denn lange vor allen Hayseed Lightnings und Boss Hossen dieser Welt waren The Twang die ersten, die Rock-, Pop-, Disco- und Hip-Hop-Hits zu ihren Wurzeln im Country & Western zurückführten. Die Pioniere der "Countryfication" (2003) heimsten dafür allerorten Lobeshymnen ein. Ihr zweites Album "Let There Be Twang" (2004) wurde sogar mit einem GACMF-Award, dem deutschen Country-Oscar, ausgezeichnet.
Mit "Twang 'Em High" beweist die Band nun erneut, dass Countryfizierung trotz Partytracks wie "Fight For Your Right" und "Let Me Entertain You" kein alberner Spaß sein muss. Gnarls Barkelys "Crazy" wirkt hier verstörend melancholisch, während aus Pink Floyds "Another Brick In The Wall" eine waschechte Honkytonk-Nummer wurde.
Mit dabei als Gäste sind diesmal u. a. Cindy Cashdollar (u. a. Ryan Adams, Van Morrison), Jesse Dayton (Waylon Jennings), Redd Volkaert (Merle Haggard) und wieder mal Earl Poole Ball (Byrds, Johnny Cash). Darauf ein Yeehaw!
