Riding high with the commercial breakthrough of Seven Year Ache in 1981, ROSANNE CASH and producer husband Rodney Crowell were ready to push the envelope a little further on the smartly delivered follow-up, 1982’s Somewhere In The Stars.

The sound the pair and like-minded musicians had forged on the west coast and brought to Nashville had already been labelled ‘Punktry’ by its protagonists for the forceful, pop influenced music and the smouldering overt sexuality of Johnny Cash’s daughter.

By distilling cutting edge pop and blending it with the country music setting, the album added a ‘glam’ element to the mix.
