Thanks to Fito De La Parra, the legacy of Canned Heat continues into their 40th year of making great blues and rock music. In its early stages as a jug blues formed by the late Bob Hite and the late Alan Wilson, these two record collector friends put together the rudiments of what would turn out to be the most famous boogie band of all time.
Henry "Sunflower" Vestine, Larry "The Mole" Taylor, and Fito De La Parra would soon follow and the hits recordings and non-stop concert tours would soon begin. With memorable shows at The Monterey Pop Festival and of course Woodstock, the band became a fixture in the ultra hippie music movement and sold millions of records worldwide.
After the deaths of Hite and Wilson, De La Parra picked up the foundation of the band and took the brand name of Canned Heat throughout many tours of the US, Europe, the Orient and Australia. With great cohorts like Larry Taylor and the late Henry Vestine, the band continued with these original members frequently playing pivotal roles in the various tours and albums over the last three decades.
As a continuing chapter in the recent Canned Heat association with Friday Music, 1994's Internal Combustion is finally back in print. Thanks to the archives of Canned Heat's Fito De La Parra, this collection honors and celebrates those years past with deep tracks like Remember Woodstock and John Lee Hooker Boogie.
Filled with rocking tracks like I Used To Be Bad and It's Hot, Canned Heat truly found it's stride with this platter. Late friends Henry Vestine and the great Ronnie Barron are featured players on these tracks and throughout this wonderful long lost CD.
Internal Combustion is back! Canned Heat celebrates its 40th year in the boogie business. As Bob Hite used to say Don't Forget To Boogie. This Heat album and their other fine reissue Reheated are now both back in print and available on Friday Music.
