Road to Angel City tells the story of an unusual young man, Joshua Cain, from south Texas. By the time he reaches high school graduation in 1962, he is deeply perplexed at why people allow falseness to rule their lives without any objection. They seem trapped and limited to shallow existences by unseen forces that no one can name. Not only does no one know the truth, no one even seems interested. Joshua determines to uncover the hidden reasons even if it takes a lifetime (which it does). His life experiences illustrate the primary elements at work in the world during the last half of the twentieth century. The moral erosion he encounters provides insight into present world dilemmas. In spite of setbacks through the decades, his resolve remains firm until he finds the answers he seeks. Although enormous and shocking obstacles appear, the book is primarily about untapped treasures of the individual human heart and the triumph of faith, hope, and inspiration.
